The Fire of the God's Eye: A Ceviche Tasting

A ceviche tasting in a Pacific-coast palapa: a shaman asks guests to understand his people's God's Eyes and nierikas before the sacred fire can be lit.

The story

God's Eyes and nierikas are sacred art pieces of the Wixárika (Huichol) people, who live in the mountains between Jalisco and Nayarit.

The sacred fire has gone out and will only be relit if guests understand their meaning.
