Iztaccíhuatl: The Banquet of Lost Memories

A dinner of ballet, mystery and eternal love: Iztaccíhuatl awakens without remembering Popocatépetl, and guests decode her dance to rebuild the legend.

The story

A ballet dancer embodies Iztaccíhuatl in a melancholy dance: every movement is an emotion, every turn an unanswered question, every silence an absence.

Guests are guardians of memory, called to interpret the dance, decode symbols and rebuild the greatest love story of mythical Mexico. The mystery isn't solved with logic, but with emotion.

How it works

Throughout the banquet, three acts of ballet reveal clues in the language of the body: “The Waiting” (absence), “The Broken Promise” (intensity) and “The Transformation” (final calm).

With the help of the host-narrator, guests watch, discuss and guide Iztaccíhuatl toward the truth. In the end, love exists again… though not always as we expect.

The characters

  • Iztaccíhuatl: performed by a professional ballet dancer.
  • The host-narrator: the voice of the myth and the spirit of time.
