The Cloister Secret: A Mole Tasting

A mole tasting in a 17th-century convent: the 30 ingredients of the Mother Superior's master recipe have been mixed up, and guests must rebuild it.

The story

Tradition says mole poblano was born in the convents of Puebla, where ingredients from two worlds came together.

The Mother Superior won't let the world taste her creation until it's perfect.

How it works

Guests smell and identify spices blindfolded, hear the history of mole and balance chiles and cacao on scales.

With all those clues — and a math puzzle — they discover the Mother Superior's mole recipe.

The characters

  • The Mother Superior: demanding and proud of her recipe.
  • The Novice: secretly helps the guests.
