The Little Mermaid in Mazatlán: Street-Style Seafood

A Mazatlán-style seafood dinner show: a mermaid fed up with her ocean diet discovers the history of Mexican seafood with a proud waiter from Sinaloa.

The story

In this coastal, streetwise version of the fairy tale there's no villain: the mermaid arrives at an urban seafood spot and meets a proud waiter from Sinaloa, an expert in seafood and culinary history.

Dish by dish, he guides her — and the guests — through the origin and evolution of Mexican seafood: from artisanal fishing to the street tostada with too much of everything and no shame at all.

How it works

The show unfolds in short acts tied to each dish. The hosts move between tables, chat with guests and involve them in decisions, challenges and banter.

It includes the participatory “Kiss the Girl” moment and a photo op.

The characters

  • The Mermaid: curious, dramatic and in love with Mexican food.
  • The Sinaloan waiter: wise, sarcastic and proud of Pacific-coast flavor.

History and culture in every scene

As in all our experiences, the hosts' dialogue and the event's activities are written with real information about Mexican history and culture. You have fun and, without even noticing, you learn. Every dish arrives with its story: where it comes from, how it's made and what it says about the region and era that created it.
