The story
Inspired by small-town beauty pageants, shameless vote-buying and the eternal “we all know who'll win, but let's pretend to vote,” this experience is a laugh-out-loud political and folk satire. (An ejido is a Mexican communal farming village.)
Five volunteers from the audience compete in the challenges to snatch the crown, by fair means or foul. The uncomfortable question of the night: if you know it's wrong… why do you still take the free sandwich?
How it works
Five guests become official contestants and the rest of the audience become judges with real power. There are fake grocery vouchers and tortas to “buy” votes, and an open campaign of creative corruption.
Four challenges choose the fairest flower, with fair music, microphone announcements and a final coronation.
The characters
- The Mayor: corrupt, charismatic and very sure of the result.
- The Favorite Niece: the “official” candidate who already feels like queen.

History and culture in every scene
As in all our experiences, the hosts' dialogue and the event's activities are written with real information about Mexican history and culture. You have fun and, without even noticing, you learn. Behind the humor there's culture: the dialogue explains the Mexican customs, traditions and characters that inspire the satire.
