Lucha Libre: “The Mask Mafia”

An immersive dinner in an underground lucha libre cantina: rudos vs. técnicos, bets, bribing the referee and a wrestling mask at stake. For 20 to 60 guests.

The story

This cantina isn't on any map and doesn't welcome the curious. Two eternal factions — rudos and técnicos — sit at the table as VIP gamblers: they don't come to watch the fight, they come to control it.

The referee isn't blind, he's expensive. The announcer doesn't report, he sells versions. Here the strongest doesn't win — whoever understands the system does: when to pay, whom to bribe, when to betray and when to fake honor.

How it works

Guests split into rudos and técnicos and choose a champion for the bout: strength challenges, arm wrestling and safe mini-tests.

Everyone gets play money to bet and can discreetly bribe the referee… though if the other side pays more, the bribe backfires. In the end, bets, bribes and the physical result decide who loses the mask.

The characters

  • The Referee: the most corruptible authority of the night.
  • The Announcer: an epic, biased and manipulable voice… if someone buys him.

What's included

  • Underground wrestling cantina décor
  • Play money and betting chips
  • Masks, posters and themed props
  • Live lucha libre-style commentary

History and culture in every scene

As in all our experiences, the hosts' dialogue and the event's activities are written with real information about Mexican history and culture. You have fun and, without even noticing, you learn. Behind the humor there's culture: the dialogue explains the Mexican customs, traditions and characters that inspire the satire.

Format and customization

“Lucha Libre: The Mask Mafia” is one of our immersive theater productions. We can adapt it to your venue, group size, menu and language, as a private event or on dates open to the public.
